This video looks at using different words to build and extend sentences
The basic sentence The dog eats steak is used and the different word types are identified using the drawing tools.
Using the drawing tools, the word types can be identified (nouns and verbs).
We can now add adjectives to expand the basic sentence (annotated in green).
An adjective usually comes before the noun it is describing, using the colour coding we can see that the green adjectives can be placed before the red nouns.
This video looks at the sorting background and gives on example of how it might be used (sorting nouns and verbs).
A variety of different words have been placed on the stage, each within their own text holders so they can be moved around.
After choosing the sorting background the two sorting areas can be named. The words can be moved around the stage so that they fall within the two sorting areas. Finally, the drawing tool can be used to highlight any mistakes that the child has made so that they can go back and move the incorrect word.

We will look at two different pictures; a photograph (JPEG) and a picture created in class (PNG).
irs Words picture background will accept the following file formats;
Picture files can be dragged from the desktop or folders onto the grey area in the picture background - please note that if you change the background the pictue background will be reset.
Once you have dragged your picture into irs Words you can add text holders and words as normal, you can use the print option to then print out your work.
